Have you heard about 4-year-old Sammy who was asked to return thanks before Sunday dinner?

The family members bowed their heads in expectation, and he began his prayer:"Thank you God for all my friends: Joey, an' Susan, an' Billy, an' Tommy," and on and on he went, naming each friend one by one.

Next he thanked God for Mommy, Daddy, brother, sister, Grandma, Grandpa, and all his aunts and uncles.Finally he got to the food."Thank you God for the turkey, an' the dressing, an' the fruit salad, an' the pies, an' the Cool Whip..."And then he paused.

The pause was almost deafening, and all eyes were focused on young Sammy with his head still bowed in prayer.Finally (almost when Father was about to interject an "Amen"), Sammy looked up at his mother and asked, "If I thank God for the broccoli, won't he know that I'm lying?"

I'm grateful we can thank God even for things we don't like...Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ as we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose

Why do i want to give thanks to God? Has something great happen in my life recently? By no man's standard is a busy week at work, without much time for shopping,chilling,slacking, sleeping,tving etc is considered as extraordinary great news ...

BUT

When I begin to thank God, even for things I don't like, it helps me to realign my perspective of things happening, and it help me to escape the entrapment of my self-centeredness, self-pity and grant me the ability to gain a more complete view of the greater picture of God's masterpiece at work in me.

The fruits of the spirit... do you desire after them? Patience, kindness, gentleness... Before i utter anyword, i am being reminded that i am God's creation and He is my creator...

"... I'm your creation, You have called me as Your own, I am Your Beloved.."

Have you thank God for the 24hrs you have in your hand daily? It is afterall God's creation, placed in mens' hand... Are you a good steward of God's gift? In all circumstance (element of time), hold your tougue and give thanks.
